New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): In response to India's decision to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) from Pakistan, visiting Pakistan Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Saturday said it was a good initiative and will be taken in a positive manner.
In an interview to ANI, Fahim said: "The way Pakistan and India have started the dialogue process is a very positive sign and we can come closer and resolve our issues. We will sort out the future plans that can only happen through dialogues. It (Pak FDI in India) is a very good initiative and Pakistan is positive, we will definitely respond positively."
Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, in a bid to improve economic relations between the two countries, had on Friday allowed FDI from Pakistan in India.
Several Pakistani industries and banks have shown their interest in setting up business in India, which would be possible only when a policy decision on allowing cross-border FDI is taken.
At present, India and Pakistan are engaged only in trade of goods, which was liberalised recently. (ANI)
