Fox News poll bucks across board trend by showing Romney marginally ahead of Obama

Washington, Fri, 13 Apr 2012 ANI

Washington, Apr 13 (ANI): A latest Fox News poll this week has Romney topping Obama by 46-44 percent as opposed to the ABC News poll last week, which showed Obama ahead by 51-44.

The close difference in the results have reportedly suggested that either it is a very 'volatile race' or probably different polling methods have been adopted, Politico44 reports.

However, this was only the second time since Romney was above Obama. The first time was November 2011, when he was also up by 2 percent points.

he poll results found 43 percent independents backing Romney and 37 percent Obama.

But, nearly 21 percent of voters were found as undecided or might not cast their vote for either of the major party candidates.

Earlier, White House Republican contender Newt Gingrich had blasted the channel for overt bias in favour of Romney, saying the American news channel has been biased towards former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney from the beginning of the Republican presidential fight.

"I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through," Gingrich was quoted as saying during a private meeting with Delaware Tea Party leaders.(ANI)
