Harare, Apr 12 (ANI): Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, who was believed to be fighting for his life in a Singapore hospital, has returned to his home country.
Speculation about Mugabe's condition recently spread like wildfire after his absence forced the postponement of a cabinet meeting.
Mugabe's party, however, dismissed reports that he had been gravely ill as 'a lot of hogwash' from hostile Western media organizations, Express.co.uk reports.
According to the report, Zimbabwe's Information Minister Webster Shamu invited reporters to the Harare airport to witness Mugabe's arrival.
"As you can see, the man is fit. Why do we lie and why do we panic?" Shamu said.
Mugabe landed in a private jet chartered by a diamond mining company, the report said.
Mugabe, 88, has made ten trips to Singapore in the past 16 months, reportedly for medical treatment for advanced prostate cancer. (ANI)
