New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) The week started on a hot note for Delhiites Monday with sunny skies and temperatures settling above average.
The day's maximum temperature was four notches above average at 38.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was three notches above average at 23.1 degrees Celsius.
The humidity was recorded at a high of 60 and a low of 21 percent.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhiites can expect a similarly hot day Tuesday with the mercury set to rise further during the week.
"The skies will be partly cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 39 and 23 degrees Celsius respectively," said the official.
Sunday's maximum and minimum temperature settled three notches above average at 36.6 and 22.1 degrees Celsius.
