Beijing, Apr 6 (ANI): Anonymous hackers have claimed that they will continue hacking the Chinese websites in protests against internet censorship in that country.
Most of the sites of Anonymous China, which had been hacked previously, were working normally early Friday, although some still carried error messages and an official site of the ruling Communist Party in the southern city of Hezhou.
But the group reportedly has decided to keep targeting Chinese sites.
"It will keep going. The targets are selected," The Telegraph claimed the group as saying.
Anonymous said that this week it hacked 300 Chinese websites and posted messages to the government and the Chinese people such as, "To the Chinese people: your government controls the internet in your country and tries to filter what he sees as a threat to him."
The Chinese Government controls the internet in the country, using a vast and sophisticated censorship system known as the "Great Firewall".
The hackings this week were reported after Chinese Government officials shut down websites and arrested people after reports of a coup linked to a major scandal in the country surfaced, that removed a top politician from his post. (ANI)
