London, Apr 6(ANI): Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said he would have required a psychiatrist if he daily spoke to his eccentric striker Mario Balotelli.

Mancini also said he would have 'punched' Balotelli daily on his head, if the Italian striker was playing along him ten years ago.

His insight revelations into the 21-year old forward's behaviour came just before it was exposed that Balotelli cheated on his girlfriend, by having sex with Wayne Rooney's notorious hooker Jennifer Thompson.

"I told him that if you played with me ten years ago I give to you every day maybe one punch in your head. I don't speak with him every day because otherwise I would need a psychiatrist," The Sun quoted Mancini, as saying.

"There are different ways to help guys like Mario. I spoke with the players when he arrived two years ago and I said: 'Mario is a young player, he has a fantastic talent but he is young so he can do some mistakes sometimes'," he added.

Mancini also managed a young Balotelli during his tenure as Inter Milan manager, and he claimed that Balotelli never used to create any such problems when he was a kid.

"When Mario started with Inter he was young and he didn't have this problem. Now it's different," Mancini said. (ANI)
