Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh), Mar.29 (ANI): Tibetan exiles on Thursday staged a rally in Dharamshala in memory of a Tibetan man who died after setting himself on fire in protest of Chinese Premier Hu Jintao's presence at the fourth BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Tibetan men and women gathered in the town centre and marched through the streets armed with Tibetan flags and photographs of their exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.
Exiled Tibetans like Soanm urged the United Nations to intervene in the matter and free Tibet from Chinese rule.
"The Tibetans living in Dharamshala are participating in the kind of mourning to the Tibetans who had given up their lives and very recently a young Tibetan from Tibet gave up his life. So, we are appealing to the United Nations, we are appealing to the Chinese government that please give human rights and democratic situations in Tibet. Please improve all those things. This is the kind of appeal, which is going on," Soanm.
