New Delhi, Mar.27 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has ordered the setting up of a board of army doctors to examine the medical records of the Nitish Katara murder case convicts.
According to a television channel report, the army doctors will examine the medical records of Vikas and Vishal Yadav. They will also examine how many of Katara murder case convicts' visits from Tihar to hospitals were justified.
"An independent committee is required to evaluate the medical records of both Vikas and Vishal to ascertain which medical visits were warranted and which were not," the bench said and sought a report from the experts committee within four weeks.
The Delhi High Court's decision comes after the victim's mother Neelam Katara alleged Vikas was not in his room on October 26, 2011 night, which was Diwali.
According to reports, Vikas had left the hospital at 8.30 p.m. and came back next morning, but the nurse who was on duty was not informed either by the patient or the policemen who were with him.
The trial court has sentenced the Yadav brothers and co-accused Sukhdev Pehlwan to life imprisonment for the murder of Nitish Katara.
Nitish Katara, a business executive, was abducted from a marriage party at Ghaziabad on the intervening night of February 16-17, 2002 and was later killed for his alleged intimacy with Vikas' sister Bharti. (ANI)
