Nairobi, March 27 (IANS) Kenya and Britain will promote their ties, said visiting British Minister for Africa Henry Bellingham.
"Kenya and Britain have strong shared interests including trade, development, security, regional stability as well as deep people to people links," Bellingham said Monday after meeting Foreign Minister Moses Wetangula and Internal Security Minister George Saitoti.
Xinhua quoted Bellingham as saying that his country was committed to increasing commercial ties as a way of relieving poverty in Kenya through trade rather than aid.
There are over 200,000 Kenyans living, working or studying in Britain. Two way trade last year was in excess of one billion British pounds.
