London, Mar 26(ANI): McLaren driver Jenson Button has issued a public apology to his own team for finishing at 14th position in the rain-marred Sepang Championship in Malaysia.
"I can only say sorry to the team. This is an awful day for me. It couldn't have been any worse. It made me laugh it was so bad. Sometimes it doesn't fall into place. Canada for my win did but here everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong," The Daily Mirror quoted Button, as saying.
"I am amazed that I'm still third in the championship. I always found myself in the wrong position at the wrong time," he added.
He was happy to accept The Mirror's tag of 'Formula 1's Teflon Man' as things could go wrong but barely affect his championship chances.
Fernando Alonso won the driver's championship, while Sergio Perez came in second, scoring as many points in one race as the rest of his career. (ANI)
