Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) A South Korean national Saturday succumbed to burns in an explosion on board a ship off the Mumbai coast while six others were injured, officials said.
"One of the crew members named Moon Hyun-seok, a South Korean national, has succumbed to his injuries," a Mumbai Port Trust official said.
The ship 'Royal Diamond - 7' is a chemical tanker which was to sail with a consignment of 2,000 tonnes of Toluene.
"The South Korean Consulate has been informed of the unfortunate incident today and the senior management of the Port has visited the chemical tanker 'Royal Diamond - 7' to have a first-hand assessment of the incident," the official said.
The MPT has now decided to shift the tanker to Outer-Anchorage of the port.
The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.
