New Delhi, Mar 17 (ANI): After the recent emergence of differences in opinion on the Railway Budget proposal of hiking the passenger fares between Congress and Trinmool Congress (TMC), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said the Congress led-UPA government has turned out to be a failure in running a coalition government.
BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said: "The government, which has failed in all fronts is turning out to be a failure in managing to run a coalition government as well.
Naqvi further said the days of the central government were numbered as it had lost confidence of the parliament.
"The kind of tussle that is going on in this government and the emergence of contrary viewpoints on various important issues was a clear indication that it has lost the confidence of parliament, giving rise to a great constitution problem. So, I believe that, in present scenario, the days of this government are numbered." he added.
Both Congress and TMC went at loggerheads after TMC leader and Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi announced hike in passenger fares in his ministry's budget for 2012-13 on February 14.
Trivedi has refused rollback the hike saying it was necessary in order to develop the railways, aggravating his party chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sack Trivedi, giving rise to the speculation of instability in the alliance.
