Washington, Mar 16 (ANI): Russell Brand has been released from police custody on a 5000-dollar bail after he allegedly snatched a photographer's cell phone and hurled it through a window.
The 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' star, who was arrested on Thursday, walked free from a jail in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He flashed a smile to waiting photographers and was greeted by his mother, Barbara, and rumoured girlfriend, Oriela Medellin Amieiro, Contactmusic reported.
Brand, who is filming a movie in the city, surrendered to police earlier in the day after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday night.
The 36-year-old actor was questioned over his run-in with the paparazzo on Monday.
He was booked on one count of simple criminal damage to property and faces a 700-dollar fine for his outburst. (ANI)
