London, Mar 15(ANI): England Premier League Chairman Sir Dave Richards has asked the Islamic state of Qatar to relax its alcohol laws for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, or risk facing a boycott from thirsty fans.
Alcohol in Qatar is usually available only to foreigners at expensive hotel bars, The Sun reports.
But Richards said a 'middle ground' should be found to satisfy both the Islamic state's culture and Britain's.
Addressing a conference in Doha, Richards said if nothing is done 'you might be better off saying don't come'.
Qatar's football boss insisted the issue is being discussed with FIFA, but he saw "no reason" for carousing in stadiums. (ANI)
