London, Mar.14 (ANI): The TATA Group-owned Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed it is adding 1,000 new jobs as it takes its Halewood plant on Merseyside to a 24-hour operation.
The company said the positions will support demand for the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander 2, creating additional supply chain opportunities too.
According to The Telegraph, the move will take the workforce at Halewood to almost 4,500 - treble the number employed there three years ago.
In a statement, JLR said the new positions would include production operators, supervisors and engineers.
Human resources director Des Thurlby said: "These 1,000 new jobs are further evidence of JLR's clear ambition for continued growth. (ANI)
