New Delhi, Mar 13 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said his party needed to evaluate it's below par performance in recently concluded Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.
"The party should hold discussions on the Uttar Pradesh elections and reason on why the party's number fell in the state, which leader was responsible for the party finishing third?" he said.
The BJP, which won 51 seats in the 2007 polls, was reduced to 47 seats this time.
Meanwhile, another BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi complimented Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister designate Akhilesh Yadav for the comprehensive of the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.
He, however, said it will be quite interesting to witness whether the Samajwadi Party will stand erect before the ground realities
"Will the cadre of the Samajwadi Party allow its feet to touch the ground? It remains to be seen. It is true that they have had a good start and we cannot criticize everything just because we are the opposition, some things are going well, but will they be successful at ground realities are yet to be seen," said Naqvi.
Akhilesh was on Saturday named the new chief minister of Uttar Pradesh by his party's lawmakers after the Samajwadi Party (SP) routed all its rivals in the recently concluded state assembly elections, clinching 224 of 403 seats in the state assembly.t 38, he will become the youngest chief minister of Uttar Pradesh after taking oath of office on March 15.
