Madhya Pradesh CM orders CBI probe in IPS officer's killing

Bhopal, Tue, 13 Mar 2012 ANI

Bhopal, Mar 13 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said that he has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the killing of Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Narendra Kumar Singh.

Chouhan said that he had passed the order on the insistence from the family of the deceased officer.

Singh, who was posted at Banmore as Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), was crushed to death under the wheels of a tractor-trolley last Thursday, allegedly by a member of the mining mafia, when he tried to stop the vehicle which was illegally carrying stones at Banmore in Morena District.

The state government had earlier ordered a judicial probe in the matter. (ANI)
