Tehran, Mar 12(ANI): Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reportedly said his country does not fear military strikes by the West.
"The Iranian nation doesn't fear your(West) bombs and warships and planes. Such weapons are worth nothing. You say to Iran all options are on the table. Leave them there until they rot. The time of arrogance and colonialism has passed, and the era of your unreasonableness passes too," an Iranian news-agency quoted him, as saying.
He also demanded the West to give up its "bullying" stance against his country and stressed that sanctions imposed over its nuclear programme were having no more than a "psychological" effect.
He also dismissed Israel, which has been leading the bellicose rhetoric, as "a dead entity".
"Do not think that just because idiot leaders of regional countries support you, you will cement your basis in the region," The Telegraph quoted him, as saying.
He also slammed Arab governments backing the West against his country.
"The (Arab leaders) have no support among their people. If they give only one day of freedom to their nation, their people in the one day will topple them all," he said.
Ahmedinejad's statement came in the wake of Iran and major world powers, including the five UN Security Council permanent members and Germany trying to revive stalled talks.
The West has imposed tough sanctions to try to force Iran to open up its alleged nuclear activities to international scrutiny amid speculations it is secretly trying to develop nuclear weapons.
Iran has denied any military development work but has not given international inspectors access to suspicious sites. (ANI)
