Dehradun, Mar 7 (ANI): With both Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) propping up to take the front seat in the legislative assembly, Uttarakhand Governor Margaret Alva on Wednesday informed that no political outfit has yet staked the claim to form the next government in the state.

"We have not yet invited anyone. No one has come and staked the claim before me as yet. When they come, we will go by the constitution and the rulebook," she said.

Governor Alva further said that she has asked B.C. Khanduri to carry on as the chief minister until the new government is sworn in.

"Khanduriji has submitted his resignation of the government. I have asked him to carry on until the new government is sworn in, whatever happens now in the next four days," Alva said.

"I wish him all the best and I sure his party will use him in one capacity or the other," she added.
