Lewis Hamilton warned against LA high-life

London, Wed, 07 Mar 2012 ANI

London, Mar 7 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton has been told to put a stop at his partying lifestyle in Los Angeles and get his head back to driving again.

Hamilton, 27, whose relationship with former Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger is now back on, had a difficult time in 2011 as his personal life interfered with his driving.

The warning comes from ex-team boss and F1 driver Eddie Jordan, who insists the British racer cannot keep pace with juggling his private life in the States with his career.

Jordan said that he cannot be focused while racking up the air-miles while hanging out with the A-list celebrities in between races.

"You cannot fit what he was trying to fit into calendar, for a professional racing driver, being ready to race, mentally and physically," the Sun quoted Jordan as saying.

Hamilton has appointed management company XIX, along with experienced manager Didier Coton to help him cope with his mental baggage this season.

BBC's F1 analyst Jordan said that the pressure is also on XIX boss Simon Fuller to get the best out of his client - unless he could fail like axed Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.

"In one way I was surprised Lewis left his father, but on the other side, as a parent, no. You need to fly your own wings, go out there and do it," he said.

"His father was a great inspiration to him at the start but he is going with Simon [Fuller] now. Simon has a big responsibility to play.

"It's a bit like the AVB situation. He has got make sure Lewis performs," he added.

Jordan also said that McLaren needs to be somewhat accountable for the way they handled Hamilton's situation last year.

The scene could not be more different in the garage of his team-mate Jenson Button, who finished above Hamilton last year. (ANI)
