Islamabad, Mar 7 (ANI): The Pakistan Senate has passed a unanimous resolution condemning the burning of Qurans at a US base in Afghanistan and demanding that those responsible be punished.
"This house demands investigation and punishment for those who were responsible for this deplorable act," The Express Tribune quoted the resolution, as saying.
"NATO will have to take steps to stop such irresponsible acts in the future," the resolution, presented by Nayyar Bukhari, leader in the Senate from Pakistan People's Party (PPP), added.
Forty people were killed during the anti-US protests over the same issue, leading relations between NATO members and their Afghan allies to an all-time low and forcing US President Barack Obama to apologise.
Pakistan's parliament is expected to review Pak-US relations later this month at a joint session that has been repeatedly delayed. (ANI)
