London, Mar 7 (ANI): Britons are increasingly getting 'bored' by with social media and say they will use it less, according to a new survey.
However, the uptake and usage of sites such as Facebook and Twitter, is still growing.
The study, by YouGov, found that 41 per cent of the UK online population is bored by social networks. 65 per cent have used Facebook in the last month, while 23 per cent have logged onto Twitter during the same period. Other popular Internet brands include LinkedIn, Google+ and Spotify.
However, just under a quarter of the British online population who regularly use Facebook, are going on it less than they did a year ago, the Telegraph reported.
Nineteen per cent also reckon they will continue to use the world's most popular social networking site less and less over the next 12 months.
The study also shows that increasing numbers of people prefer to use social media for specific purposes, such as job hunting via LinkedIn or tracking friends' news - rather than just browsing the sites for the sake of it. (ANI)
