Islamabad, Mar 6 (ANI): The United States wants unconditional resumption of NATO supplies to Afghanistan, sources have said.
US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter is expected to meet leaders and officials in Islamabad to renew t US efforts to talk on the same issue.
"We respect Pakistan's sovereign right for parliamentary review process. We are patiently waiting as the US is committed for resumption of full spectrum relations with Pakistan", TheNation quoted embassy spokesman Mark Stroh, as saying.
He said the US and Pakistan were keeping diplomatic channels open.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said creating problems for the NATO forces is not in Pakistan's interest.
Insisting that peace in the region was in Pakistan's interest and, Khar said: "We need to further improve our relations with all regional countries. Creating problems for the NATO forces is not in Pakistan's interest, but a strong reaction on Salala attack was also imperative because country's interest is supreme."
Talking about the NATO supply, Hina said that the land route was still closed.
"The aerial route was never blocked. As far as land route is concerned, we blocked it and it is still blocked," she said.
Islamabad halted NATO supplies following last November's NATO attack that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. (ANI)
