London, Mar 4 (ANI): Adele is set to miss out on millions of pounds as her plans for a world tour have been scrapped over fears that her vocal cords could be permanently damaged.
The British singer had made a triumphant return at the Grammys, singing for the first time since her successful surgery in November.
But doctors have warned the BRIT winner that performing too much could cut short her career.
"The surgery was successful but doctors are still concerned she could damage her golden voice," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.
"They have given the go-ahead to one-off shows but a full tour has been ruled out for now," the source added.
The diagnosis means cancelled dates in the US and plans to perform at the 02 are now in doubt.
New dates would see the London singer rake in millions more but her record label has decided the best thing is for her to record a new CD and then take it from there.
Adele will also miss out on hundreds of thousands of pounds in lost earnings after turning down numerous TV and promo offers, including 'The Voice' and 'The X Factor'.
She is instead expected to take an extended break to spend time with new love Simon Konecki who friends say she will wed.
"Adele isn't motivated by money, that's the last thing she cares about.
"She had a serious scare with her voice and is determined to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"She's also turned down TV offers and advertising campaigns because she doesn't want to be a celebrity.
"She's motivated by the music not the fame and fortune," the source added. (ANI)
