Melbourne, Feb 28 (ANI): It was a proud moment for Shane Warne when he was inducted into Australia's 2012 Hall of Fame, but the spin legend couldn't share it with fiancee Elizabeth Hurley.
Warne arrived at the event with his three children Brooke, Summer and Jackson but Hurley was no where to be seen.
He walked the red carpet at Crown with the kids while Hurley remained in New York on assignment.
"Elizabeth is shooting (Gossip Girl) Tuesday, otherwise she was going to come and fly back," the Daily Telegraph quoted Warne as explaining about Hurley's absence.
"She's very disappointed she couldn't be here with us but we've spoken on the phone and she's very proud," he stated.
Warne landed in Melbourne just before 3pm yesterday, after the flight was diverted through Sydney.
"I think I left New York about three days ago. We had just enough time to get changed and showered," he joked.
"I feel very humble and proud ... I was very shocked and surprised and only found out a short time ago," the cricketer said.
Warne also stated that he was unsure if he would play again in the Big Bash League with Melbourne Stars.
"It's probably unlikely but you never know, (chairman) Eddie (McGuire) can be a persuasive man," he added. (ANI)
