Bijnor/Agra, Feb 27 (ANI): Accusing the Samajwadi Party (SP) of being a perpetrator of crime in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Mayawati warned that the former would disrupt law and order in the state if was returned to power.
Addressing a rally in Bijnor, Mayawati said the state would become a victim of hooliganism and crime if voters brought the Samajwadi Party back to power .
"If, because of your lack of understanding, the Samajwadi Party comes to power, then the state would be governed by goons and criminals. Law and order at all levels in the state would come to a standstill, women would also not be able to roam freely in such a society," Mayawati said.
Samajwadi leader Akhilesh Yadav said: "We are confident that the Samajwadi Party would come to power in Uttar Pradesh with a clear majority."
"We have a lot of trust in the public and I think we would govern the state," Yadav told a gathering in Moradabad.
The sixth phase of assembly polls will be held in Uttar Pradesh on February 28,while the seventh and last phase, involving western and terai regions, will be held on March 3.he Uttar Pradesh polls are being viewed as an opportunity for major political parties to re-establish their foothold in the country's fifth largest and most populous state. new 403-member state assembly will be elected in March.
