London, Feb.27 (ANI): Allegations have surfaced that Chinese kids were roped in to make London 2012 Olympic pin badges in a sweatshop for six pennies an hour.
According to the Daily Express, the 15-year-old kids made the metal badges featuring official mascots Wenlock and Mandeville.
They were said to be working in a factory filled with dangerous nitric acid fumes.
t is understood that the controversial situation was unveiled after TUC's Playfair campaign, which was set up to protect workers producing Olympic goods travelled to China.
According to the newspaper, there could be more young children involved who may have worked there during the school holidays.
Under Chinese law, under-16s should not be employed full-time. (ANI)
