Former SI cover girl Kathy Ireland named world's richest model

Washington, Feb 25 (ANI): Kathy Ireland, who has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated thrice in her career, is the richest model in the world, according to a celebrity website.

According to Forbes magazine, Ireland went on to launch an empire worth an estimated 350 million dollars after her modelling career.

Considered the richest supermodel in the world right now by CelebrityNetWorth.com, Ireland, 48, is "a bigger licensor than the formidable Martha Stewart," Forbes said.

What began as a simple clothing line at Kmart emerged into a brand that now includes home goods, socks and wigs.

As for current SI covergirl Kate Upton, Ireland tells Forbes that the 19-year-old is on the right path by having "an agenda."

"So many young people say, 'I'm just going to see what happens," People magazine quoted her as telling the publication.

"It's much more powerful to make things happen and have a plan," she added. (ANI)
