Syria says 'it has no records of two foreign journalists killed in Homs'

Damascus , Thu, 23 Feb 2012 ANI

Damascus, Feb 23 (ANI): Syria's Minister of Information has said that they have no idea about the existence of the foreign journalists, who were reportedly killed in the city of Homs.

"We had no idea about the existence of those journalists or when did they enter Syria," the state media quoted Adnan Mahmoud, as saying.

"We have asked the authorities in Homs to search for the whereabouts of those journalists and find out what had happened to them," he added.

According to Xinhua, the minister also appealed on all foreign journalists who have entered Syria illegally to register themselves.

Two Western journalists, one American and one French, reportedly died yesterday after a shell hit a makeshift media centre in the Baba Amr area, which has come under bombardment.

Rockets were also said to have hit the building's garden when people try to flee afterwards.

According to media reports, at least three other foreign journalists were wounded in the violence. (ANI)
