London, Feb 23 (ANI): A spokesperson for George Michael has denied claims that the musician was drunk or drugged during the Brit music Awards on Tuesday night.
The 48-year-old chart legend, who rushed back to Britain from a relaxing holiday in Australia to be part of the ceremony on Tuesday night, had sparked fears among his fans with a bizarre "comeback" appearance at the Brits.
The 'Careless Whisper' star stumbled through slurred words while presenting Adele with her best album award.
The singer, who is recovering from pneumonia that nearly killed him, took to the stage as a surprise presenter and got a standing ovation from the crowd and happily waved to them.
He hugged presenter James Corden as the screens flashed up the nominees for the award and made his way to the announcement podium.
"And the winner of this year's Mastercard ... Barclays ... Mastercard," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.
"For the British album of the year, without a doubt, Adele!" he said.
A spokesman for the singer, who has battled his use of cannabis, denied he was drunk or drugged.
She hinted he was simply suffering from jet-lag following the long flight back from Oz. (ANI)
