London, Feb 20 (ANI): Women boxers can now choose between wearing either skirts or shorts for matches, when the sport makes its Olympic debut at London 2012.
Athletes had opposed initial plans, which would have forced them to wear netball-style skirts in the ring this summer, but the decision has now been changed.
"The decision we have made now is to make it optional," the Sun quoted CK Wu, President of the Amateur International Boxing Association, as saying.
"The men, of course, have no option. They have to wear shorts!" he said. (ANI)
