Daring Chisora loses to Klitschko on points

London, Sun, 19 Feb 2012 ANI

London, Feb 19(ANI): WBC champion Vitali Klitschko has retained his title after defeating heavyweight boxer Dereck Chisora with a narrow margin on points this Saturday.

Klitschko won the match with a unanimous decision from the referees after being taken the distance by Chisora, who had slapped him in the face during the official weigh-in.

There was no doubt who would have their hand raised in victory when the final bell rang, although the margin of Klitschko's victory seemed unkind.

Chisora's performance during the match was praised from all ends as he fought valiantly against the champion.

He didn't waste any time in calling for a rematch after two judges scored the fight 118-110 in Klitschko's favour, while the third gave the Ukrainian the nod 119-111.

The crowd constantly booed him during the match but Chisora claims he wasn't affected by the jeering.

"I don't mind people booing me. They can boo me, they can hate me, and I don't really care. As long as they pay money to come and watch the sport I love, I don't care," the Sun quoted Chisora as saying.

"The only thing beating me today was experience. I don't hold back, I keep coming. There will be a rematch against Vitali or I'll fight his brother Wladimir instead. I'm going to keep working hard. I came here to fight and that's what I did," he said. (ANI)
