Nagpur, Feb 16 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari on Thursday hit out at Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for tearing the manifesto of a political party during a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh, and said that the former has proved that he is not yet mature.
Gadkari, who rode a two- wheeler to reach a polling booth to caste his vote at the ongoing civic body polls in Maharashtra, after casting his vote said: "Rahul Gandhi has proved that he is not yet mature. Tearing a party's manifesto during a public meeting clearly shows his immature behaviour. He is immature and is not fit to be in national politics. This is childish behaviour and he has proved it."
Charging the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) of making 'only promises', Rahul Gandhi had on Wednesday tore a piece of paper at an election meeting to drive home the point that 'mere lists' of assurances were of no use.
Gadkari further slammed the ruling ally of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra for rampant corruption and surging inflation in the state.
"I think people are angry with the present ruling government of Maharashtra (Congress and NCP) because of the rampant corruption and inflation, which will be clearly seen in the results of the polls," he added.
The polls were being held in Maharashtra's Thane, Ulhasnagar, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Nashik, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur and Mumbai municipal corporations. (ANI)
