New York, Feb 16 (ANI)): Former Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has denied rumours that she'll compete on the upcoming season of ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars.'
But the Tea Party darling insisted it wasn't for a lack of skills.
"In full disclosure, I did win a polka dancing competition when I was in the tenth grade at my alma mater, Anoka High School," the New York Daily News quoted the Minnesota congresswoman as saying in a statement.
"But, despite my tenth grade polka success and my lifelong love of ballroom dancing, the recent rumors are false. I will not be joining 'Dancing with the Stars," she said.
She said she'd turn her attention to her district as she seeks a fourth term in the House of Representatives.
"My time and attention remains committed to creating more private sector jobs, and higher paying jobs, in the Sixth Congressional District. Serious issues face our nation," Bachmann added.
She is just the latest GOPer to turn down the opportunity to shimmy on reality show's dance floor.
Herman Cain, who suspended his campaign in December amid allegations of sexual harassment and a long-term extramarital affair, also said no to the show's producers on Tuesday.
"He can't dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count," Cain's spokeswoman told The Atlanta Journal-Consitution, in apparent reference to his "9-9-9" tax plan.
"Dancing With the Stars" is schedule to announce its next lineup for its 14th season by the end of the month. (ANI)
