London, Feb 14 (ANI): A ruling by a UK court to release Abu Qatada, a radical Muslim cleric described as 'Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe" on bail, has been greeted with fury in Britain.
The fiasco emerged as the caged hate preacher, 51, was released after the European Court of Human Rights ruled last month that he could not be deported to his native Jordan, despite accusations that he poses a grave threat to Britain's security.
According to The Sun, even Qatada's own mother and brother said he should be booted out of the UK back to Jordan.
Meanwhile, London mayor Boris Johnson revealed that three teams of 20 counter terrorist police would work eight-hour shifts watching Qatada.
As per Qatada's bail conditions, he is likely to be confined to his home except for two one-hour periods each day, and will probably be allowed to take one of his five children to school.estrictions on his movement are likely to be lifted if the Home Secretary fails to show within three months that progress is being made in negotiations with Jordan regarding his extradition.
