Islamabad, Feb 10 (ANI): The Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Palwasha Behram has informed the National Assembly (NA) that 4,832 Pakistanis were deported from various countries in the last two years.
Behram said these people were deported on legal grounds.
The Nation quoted her, as saying that the FIA and the Interior Ministry dealt with such cases, but added that Pakistani missions abroad were sometimes informed about illegal entrances or illegal residences by a concerned country, after which they facilitated in sending the Pakistanis back.
Out of 4,832 deported Pakistanis, 1467 were deported from Britain, 2,865 from Greece, 134 from Cyprus and the rest from Russia, Belarus, Sweden, Denmark, Ukraine, France, Switzerland and Germany.
To a supplementary question on Pakistan's relation with Russia and Bangladesh, Palwasha informed that Russia has showed its interest in improving the Pakistan Steel Mill and Thar Coal, Pakistan also wanted Russia to help in nuclear generation for peaceful purpose.
On being asked about the recall of those Pakistani workers from South Korea who have completed their term of employment and were illegally living, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Sheikh Waqqas Akram said the house that the South Korean Government had asked his ministry to form a cell to advise the parents or relatives of these illegal Pakistani residents and to take steps to call them back to Pakistan.
