Washington, February 1(ANI): Several US presidential candidates are taking help of the Twitter to reach out to millions of users during this year's presidential race.
Dick Costolo, Chief Executive, Twitter has termed this year's US presidential race as 'the Twitter election'.
While speaking at an 'All Things D' (the digital division of The Wall Street Journal) technology conference in California last night, Costolo revealed that most of the Republican candidates are buying adverts, also known as promoted tweets, trends or accounts.
He said those candidates who aren't taking Twitter's help would be left behind in the presidential race.
"Candidates that don't participate on Twitter while the conversation is happening will be left behind," The Telegraph quoted Costolo, as saying.
Costolo said Twitter's political adverts would form a momentous part of the company's advertising business in 2012. (ANI)
