Gurgaon(Haryana), Jan 30 (ANI): Doctors attending to Anna Hazare have said the veteran activist's condition is stable and he will soon be discharged.

While interacting with mediapersons in Gurgaon, Haryana on Monday, Dr. Awadhesh Dubey said the test reports had been positive and along the lines of what doctors expected.

"Several investigations are still going on, his blood test reports and some other results have come, some are yet to come. But the reports till now have been quite positive; it's along the lines of what doctors have been estimating. We expect his condition to remain stable, he is right now stable and if it continues to be so, we shall be discharging him very soon," said Dubey.

Hazare arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for medical treatment at a speciality hospital to get rid of a persistent cough and backache.

Dubey played down reports that the wrong treatment had been given to Hazare, when he was being treated at a hospital in Pune.

"Till now we have not figured out any such thing; that wrong treatment was given or any such thing happened. Till now, as I told you, the morning reports were good and if the same condition continues then we will discharge him in two to three days," said Dubey.

Earlier, Hazare was being treated at the Sancheti hospital in Pune for acute bronchitis, after he called off his three-day hunger strike to press for a strong and an effective Ombudsman Bill.

Last year, Hazare had sought medical help from the Medanta hospital, after he ended his 12-day fast at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.

Hazare has been at loggerheads over the Ombudsman Bill - an emotionally charged issue for which he went on hunger strikes in April, August and December. (ANI)
