Canberra, Jan 29(ANI): Kevin Rudd's daughter Jessica has maintained her rage over at the betrayal on her father's axing as Australian Prime Minister in 2010.
She spoke for the first time about the treachery of her father's political execution by many people for whom she had helped win seats in the 2007 campaign.
"I felt heartbroken by what happened. Bear in mind I had campaigned alongside a lot of the people who were responsible for what happened ... and I found it really difficult to come to terms with that level of well, boldness. And the betrayal, of course, because it was deeply personal," The Courier Mail quoted Jessica, as saying.
Jessica, who is a Beijing-based lawyer-turned-author also revealed that she pleaded with her father not to attend Question Time on the day he was axed to avoid the embarrassment of sitting on the backbench.
"I watched my dad that day dust himself off and walk back into the Parliament and sit on the backbench for Question Time," Jessica said.
"I begged him not to. I said, 'Don't do that Dad' He said, 'I was elected by the people of Griffith to represent them in the Parliament, we have Question Time now, so that's what I am going do' and he went back. Good on him," she added.(ANI)
