Buenos Aires (Argentina), Jan 26 (ANI): Argentina's President Cristina Kirchner has resumed her official duties after 20 days of medical leave following a cancer scare that led to the removal of her thyroid earlier this month.
"Today we resume activities. Beginning at 7 pm, at Government House, we will sign agreements for public works with the provinces ..," Kirchner, 58, tweeted.
It was Kirchner's first message since January 7, when she thanked supporters for concern over her health problem, The Telegraph reports.
Kirchner underwent surgery to remove her thyroid gland after a cancer diagnosis, which later turned out to be inaccurate.
During her medical leave, Vice President Amado Boudou officially assumed her executive duties.
Kirchner is Argentina's first elected female president. She succeeded her husband, Nestor Kirchner, who died of a heart attack in October 2010. (ANI)
