Samajwadi Party leader labels Team Anna enemies of democracy

Rampur, Jan 25 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan on Wednesday said civil society activists are enemies of democracy, and charged them with promoting lawlessness and misusing crowds to get their demands fulfilled.

"From the starting, we have been saying that Anna Hazareji and his team is enemy of democracy, they are promoting lawlessness and are misusing unconstitutional crowd to get their demands fulfilled. They are adding such people to their movement who do not believe in the constitution and who feel that it should be a Hindu nation," Khan told the media here.

"Annaji has spoken of slapping corrupt people, so his team will talk of shooting such people. When the team's commander will talk of violence then the team members will also resort to violence," he added.

Hazare, 74, had earlier on Tuesday evening said a person is left with no option other than going for a slap when his power of tolerance of corruption runs out.

"When a man's power of tolerance runs out, then whoever is in front of you, if a slap is given, then the brain is put back in place. That is the only road open now," he told the media at his native village Ralegan Siddhi after watching the forthcoming Hindi flick 'Gali Gali Chor Hai', which is based on the common man's fight against corruption.

The film is directed by Rumi Jaffrey and casts Bollywood actors Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran and Mugdha Godse. (ANI)
