Imphal, Jan 23 (ANI): Keen to integrate youth and make them aware about the culture and traditions of Manipur, a state level National Youth Day was recently observed.
About ninety participants from eight different centres of the Nehru Yuva Kendra in Manipur came together to showcase their talent during the five-day event.
The main theme of the event was to bring youth of different regions together at a single platform and propagate communal harmony, national integration and brotherhood.
It was also the 149th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and the organizers inspired the youth to follow his footsteps and work for the country's betterment.
"We are organizing Youth Day to make the youth aware of Swami Vivekananda's philosophy and his teaching and also to keep the youth healthy and to make them aware about the adverse impact of the HIV virus leading to AIDS and drug abuse under the theme of "Young Blood Donors Are Life Safer". J RUIVAH, Zonal Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Imphal
"I feel proud to participate in this cultural dance and I hope through this event we can unite the youth of Manipur so that they can work for a better future, said Peter, a participant.
During the event, a blood donation camp was also organized.
Earlier, the state government had organized several integration camps to bring youth together not just from within the states but from all over the country. (ANI)
