Washington, Jan 21(ANI): Windows Phones will overtake iPhones and iPads to become the second-ranked smartphone operating system in the world by 2015 but Android will remain the top operating system, analysts have predicted.
iSuppli analysts said that Nokia's Lumia 900 would enable Windows Phones command 16.7 percent share in the smartphone market.
Analyst Wayne Lam said that the new Lumia 900 phone would help Windows Phones become popular and enable Nokia to regain the market share it has lost to Android devices and iPhones.
"One of the hottest new products unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show was the Lumia 900, a Windows Phone-based smartphone sporting a flashy set of features that makes it competitive with the best alternatives offered by the Android camp," The Daily Mail quoted Lam, as saying.
"The introduction of the Lumia 900 shows that Nokia believes the road back to smartphone dominance runs through North America," IHS iSuppli Francis Sideco said. (ANI)
