Washington, Jan 20 (ANI): Elton John's husband David Furnish has apologised after slamming Madonna for her Golden Globes acceptance speech.
The film director and producer was fumed over Madonna's 'Masterpiece' winning the Best Song trophy for 'W.E.' over John's 'Hello Hello' from 'Gnomeo and Juliet' and Mary J. Blige's 'Living Proof' from 'The Help'.
"Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!" he angrily wrote on Facebook after her name was called Sunday.
Furnish went on to declare her speech "embarrassing in its narcissism."
But he has now apologized for his outburst and said his comments have been blown way out of proportion.
"Wow! What a tempest in a teapot. My comments regarding The Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion," Us Magazine quoted Furnish as writing on Facebook.
"My passion for our film 'Gnomeo and Juliet' and belief in Elton's song really got my emotional juices going.
"But I must say for the record that I do believe Madonna is a great artist, and that Elton and I wish her all the best for next week's premiere of the film W.E." he wrote. (ANI)
