Coimbatore, July 29 (ANI): A special orphanage in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore city takes care of abandoned and physically disabled animals.
The caretakers here said that there were a large number of orphanages for human beings, but nobody took care of injured and handicapped animals, which prompted them to start the animal orphanage.
"We have more than 200 animals, which are being taken care of. To maintain such a huge number of animals, the important thing, which we first require, is their feeding. In the morning we give them milk and bread, and the same are given in the afternoon," said Kalpana Vasudevan, the in-charge of the orphanage.
"In the night we add a glass of milk to the same meal. We also provide medicines to these animals," she added.
In the orphanage, special care is taken of abandoned animals, those that have some disability and as well as stray ones.
The animals at the home include dogs, cats, donkeys and horses.
The caretakers at the orphanage also take care of many injured birds and provide them with medical treatment until they recover. By Jehovah (ANI)
