Coimbatore, Apr 14 (ANI): The 'Quick reaction team' of the Coimbatore Police has completed its training to combat Maoists.
The 60-member team was imparted month-long commando training to counter a militant attack, as and when it arises.
The commandos have been trained in vehicle interception, building intervention, unarmed combat, snap shooting and situation firing.
The Personnel of the Special Task Force (STF) and the Tamil Nadu Commando School trained the commandos.
"Coimbatore Armed Reserve Men are given training in commando operations. They are trained in a number of combats; they are trained in bomb detection and how to clear the building and enter the building. They are also trained in the use of explosives to open windows and even doors and chase a vehicle that is being hijacked by the terrorists," said Sylender Babu, Police Commissioner of Coimbatore.
The commandos demonstrated a mock drill on tackling and eliminating militants. (ANI)
