Dharamsala, Apr 13 (ANI): Pre-monsoon rains on Monday not only brought down the temperature, but also ushered smiles on the faces of locals and tourists in Dharamsala.
Apart from Dharamsala, several other places in this hills state experienced welcome showers that brought down the level of the mercury.
Reportedly, Dharamsala received 3.2 mm of rain, bringing down the temperature from 33.2 degree Celsius to a minimum of 27 degree Celsius.
"We have been waiting for this rain for long. We are very happy. The rain will be beneficial for the farmers and will also help us to get rid of the rising temperature," said Prem Kumar, a resident.
Tourists thronging Dharamsala, one of the new venues for the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches on April 16 and 18, were also happy with the fresh spell.
"We came here to watch the IPL matches in advance as we wanted to enjoy both cricket and cool climate of the hills. The fresh showers have fulfilled the purpose of our visit to a hill destination. We are feeling really good and the temperature has also cooled down," said Manoj Garg, a tourist from Panipat.
Consequent to the rains, the maximum temperature in Shimla fell by 2.5 degrees from Sunday's 27.8 degrees Celsius after it received 0.3 mm of rainfall. (ANI)
