Jalgaon (Maharashtra), Apr 4 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gopinath Munde has said it would have been better if he had remained as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist than joining politics.
Munde, who was a RSS activist, entered Jan Sangh during Emergency days in 70's.
His reaction came while speaking in a programme organized to pay homage to veteran RSS ideologue Shripati Shastri, who passed away recently.
Munde said it was Shastri who asked him to join Jan Sangh during the Emergency days.
"Perhaps I should have gone back to RSS. I could have done many other things. But now it's too late. You can enter BJP, there is no exit route," he added.
Munde, who is also the brother in law of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, is presently deputy leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha. (ANI)
