Kathmandu, Oct 13 (ANI): Nepal President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday called for effective use of intellect and expertise of the Non Resident Nepalis (NRN) for the development of Nepal.
Addressing the fourth international conference of the NRN Association here, Dr Yadav also asked the NRN experts to advise the political leadership for scientific restructuring of Nepal.
He said stubbornness and conspiracies are not characters of a democratic political system.
"While writing a democratic constitution ensure religious rights, freedom, cultural diversity, freedom and the role of President, but above all the integrity of the nation. Ensure Nepal as one nation," Nepalnews quoted him as, saying.
He said Non Resident Nepalis must work for minimising climate change effect in Nepal.
Meanwhile, Newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala said that special attempts would be made to provide dual citizenship to the NRN.
Koirala said special arrangements would be made by the government in the new constitution to secure the rights of the Non Resident Nepalis.
More than 500 Nepalis working and living in 52 countries around the world are participating in the conference.
The three-day conference will discuss various issues related to foreign employment, migration and remittances, economic diplomacy, investment in Nepal, and Constitution drafting, among others.
The conference will also elect a new executive committee of the association. (ANI)
