Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh), Aug 16(ANI): The deteriorating condition of roads in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamasala city is badly affecting the tourism industry.
Poor road conditions in Dharamsala are a common sight, which leaves hordes of tourists from within the country and abroad disappointed.
"If you are travelling a long distance, it is difficult. If you have broken roads, like if you are travelling 300 km and 150 km you get stuck definitely you have a problem. You can't reach your destination," said Subel, a tourist from New Zealand.
While, the Public Works Department claims that enough is being done to improve the condition of the roads.
"The government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 10 million under road fund. So, the work has started and most of the work has already been completed," said NL Sharma, Chief Engineer of Public Works Department.
Dharamsala is a highly captivating town in the upper reaches of Kangra Valley. This headquarters of Kangra district is surrounded by dense coniferous forest, making it an important tourist destination.
